In this training session we introduced Sam to cold game and the ability to jump.
After about 20 minutes of building his confidence he gave us a nice memory retrieve.
In this training video I’m trying to show how we can increase activity levels in Treacle allowing us to increase the pressure in training to accomplish better results.
When we are training a young dog we are looking at its body language and demeanor to see how they are feeling.
Just because a dogs tail is wagging it doesn’t mean their not feeling any pressure or unsure.
We have all been in the position where we have to put on a brave smile but would rather be somewhere else!
Yesterday i also introduced Treacle to the lead.
We use a natural slip lead for training with great results.
There are many types of lead out there for new owners to try however i feel its best to fully understand any training aid you may use before use!
As you can see so far from the videos we are showing you first hand how young dogs react and how we help them on their learning curve.
This video was taken yesterday as training has been coming on well its now to try and focus Treacle’s prey drive.
What is prey drive??
Well… prey drive is the ability and determination to chase and catch something to become food!
As dogs have been domesticated for years we try and focus there prey drive to other uses.
In this video I’m wanting the prey drive to become the focus of a retrieve.
This is 1 week on from our first installment.

I do not look to rush these young dogs and take everyday as it comes.
At this young age puppies have so much to learn in and around the house BUT most importantly is patience!
Treacle is a home bred black Labrador bitch.

Timber a a very gentle but playful youngster who is just started training to become a working gundog.

Rubble is our young working chocolate Labrador he is now a proven stud dog and available at stud.
Rubble is now 2 years old and coming into his working life nicely, he has always be a very calm collected dog and is now showing good ability.

Milo has been with us for a few weeks and hadn’t had the best start in life however now seems to be enjoying his new working life and his new owners are pleased with his progress.
Milo is now showing good signs of being and honest companion, however we still have some issues to over come.
Milo has youth on his side and only being 10 months old is a fine line between adding to much pressure and putting him back inhis training or to add pressure to over come some of the habits he has picked up in early life.
